Workshops

Couponing is one of those things that I think everyone needs to know. I'm the type of person that will give a complete stranger a coupon in the middle of the grocery store if I see they're buying that item. Some people try to make it out to be harder than it is. Is it hard? No. But, is it an art? Yes.

What is a Coupon Class?
It's a time to get together and learn about coupons: where to find them; how to properly organize them; and how, when and where to "coupon". After the teaching session is a question and answer time, then there is a time of refreshments, which is provided by coupons! (Lemonade, soda, cookies, cupcakes, whatever it is that happened to be on sale that week). The fun comes when everyone sits around telling horror stories about crazy cashiers, or the wonderful deals they were able to get in the past. Then when everyone goes home, they take with them a free item that I was able to get using coupons (Nivea body wash, Ronzoni pasta, Sun Down Vitamins, Carefree Pads...). So no one goes home empty handed!

Why should I host a coupon class?
  1. To learn how to save money on your grocery and toiletry bill
    • Did you know that according to a study done by Bumble Bee in 2008, the average household spends $120 a week on groceries. What if you could cut that down 70, even 80%? When I started couponing that's about what my family averaged, sometimes even more. But, as with many families, something had to change in our budget. Now we spend less than $50, which includes fresh produce, meat and toiletries. On average, I spend 10 to 20% on toiletries and groceries combined.
  2. To learn how to properly use coupons at major grocery and drug stores, including:
    • Walmart
    • Publix
    • Kroger
    • CVS
    • Rite Aid
    • Walgreens
  3. To help those you know and love learn about couponing
    • It can be hard knowing how to do something and trying to teach it to those around you. Whether they don't think you are properly qualified to show them, or you don't feel adequate, a coupon class would be perfect for you! It would allow you and all your friends to get together and pick up a hobby that will have you all chattering and comparing for months on end.
  4. To help your community
    • Have you ever seen someone hurting or known someone who needed help but you knew that your budget couldn't take what your heart was wanting to do? With couponing, you are able to buy items at such an inexpensive (if not free) price, that helping others does not even effect your budget. My family has helped numerous families by giving away toiletries and groceries.
